This commercial highlighting the 2016 Nissan Maxima played all weekend long on ESPN:

As the owner of a 2009 Maxima, I am sorely tempted each time I see that ad.  (After all, isn’t that what advertisements are supposed to do?)

But here are the top five reasons I’m resisting that temptation and not getting a 2016 model:

5.  I couldn’t be seen in a car that changes colors when you turn on the ignition like that one does.

4.  I don’t wear a suit, work in a skyscraper, or commute to the suburbs.

3.  My 2009 is paid for.

2.  My current payments are 0.

1.  As of right now, I don’t have to make a monthly car payment.
