Say Your Kids ARE The Wild Things . . .

January 22, 2010 2

It’s one thing when the wild things are in a classic book or an inventive movie.

It’s something else entirely when they are in our house.

It’s an issue when our kids are the wild things.

Is there an app for that?

We believe so.

It involves rescuing one of the most mis-quoted verses in all of Scripture from years of mis-application and mis-use.

But that’s what we’re going to try to do, together.

Sunday.

8:30. 10. 11:30.

My parents could have used tomorrow’s message about 50 years ago!

    Talbot,

I came to church on Sunday not expecting the message about Kids to impact me. I am 59 years old, divorced for 15 years and I have no children.

Four minutes into your sermon I realized that your message was directed at me. My Mother is 92 years old and I have become the “parent” of my own Mother. She can no longer remember things and makes poor choices as a result of her memory and general health. An example would be that when ever she loses something, she immediately goes to the Administration of the Retirement Home and blames workers within the facility of stealing the item.

I find myself losing patience with her and losing my temper… this in tern hurts her feelings and causes her pain.

Your message of “discipline yourself first” truly hit me square in the face.

    Thank you.
