It’s there, but no one acknowledges it.
It’s there, everyone knows it’s there, but no one talks about it.
It’s there, and some people believe if they ignore it long enough, it will simply go away.
It’s the elephant in the room.
It’s the subject of homosexuality and the reality of gay and lesbian people in our families, workplaces, and churches.
This Sunday, as we continue on the journey that is unChristian, we’ll talk about the elephant in the room of 21st Century Christianity.
We’ll talk carefully, sensitively, biblically, lovingly.
I pray we’ll talk — and listen — as Christian Christians.
Sunday. 8:30. 10:00. 11:30.

I’m so looking forward to this Sunday Talbot. Like JM, I’m sharing this on my Facebook account as well. I’ve got a feeling this will probably be one of the most important sermons you will have preached since I’ve been at Good Shepherd! This is a topic that is so necessary considering the culture we live in today!
Talbot,
That was a very powerful and loving sermon on Sunday. It was very evident the Holy Spirit was with you yesterday. A proverbial light bulb went off for me during your opening remarks. You always seem to have your finger on the pulse of society.
God Bless you.
Powerful and insightful message yesterday. Loving seems to be easy on the surface for this topic. But what about when faced with harder questions? Would Good Shepherd hire a homosexual to work on the staff? Allow him/her to volunteer in children’s ministry? Start a youth program for gay teens? Chaperone a youth retreat? Lead a Bible study?
Thanks for relaying a message that so many of US needed to hear. I do believe that His love was spoken even during some of the more challenging portions. Many eyes were opened and looking inward. Thanks for helping me examine myself.
