It’s finally here.
Well, yeah, my blog, but that’s not the big thing.
The big thing is that NUMB3RS is finally here. It’s a message series from the book of Revelation that I’ve wanted to do for a long time now.
Because I’ll be honest: the ways that Revelation gets used and misused makes my blood boil.
Since boiling blood doesn’t help anybody, we decided to tackle the book head on. And when I kept seeing TV ads for that show NUMB3RS, well, I knew how we could approach it. Seven churches. 666 on people’s foreheads. 144,000 saints. On and on. So that’s what we’re doing. Unexpected. Bold. A bit scary. It’s a good thing that God’s not in the rut; God’s in the adventure.
James-Michael Smith has put together some video intros that you’ll have to see to believe. The best stuff ever.
NUMB3RS. It’s finally here. So don’t miss it, Good Shepherd.

Jenn Kirby (been a while since we’ve made it to church, but we have talked about getting there this Sunday… NUMB3RS sounds great)

Wow! Great blog! Glad to see it’s up and running. Who took that spectacular portrait of you? It appears as if the artist’s name has been scratched out…which couldn’t happen, because that would be an illegal copyright issue!!! 🙂
Talbot:
I just want to thank you for taking the time to Blog. You are indeed a channel of blessings into the world.
My son and I were just last week talking about his finding a church when he goes off to school and he said he feels like he won’t find one as good as GSUMC, at least not easily.
Thank you for your service. Now he will be able to supplement whatever church choice he makes with your Blog.
To be fair, the videos were also half Chris Macedo. But he gets enough face time each week, I guess! 🙂
Some friends of mine have been in search of a church home for awhile and, of course, everyone is curious about Revelations; so I invited them. Ironically, they had been discussing Revelations together just a few days before I asked them to come and they wondering about what the book means. (God was at work, let’s face it!)They visited GSUMC for the first time last week at the beginning of the NUMB3RS series. They are still (and today is Thursday) commenting to me on how much they enjoyed the worship on Sunday and how much at home they felt there. I am praying for them and you should know – they LOVED you, Talbot! They keep telling me how ‘cool’ they think my Pastor is! “He’s like a regular guy!”, one friend exclaimed. Keep it up! 🙂
Pastor Talbot: Love your Blog. I think you are doing an excellent job on the Numbers series. I’m learning a lot about the book of Revelation. I’m thankful to have found a church home that is firm and sound in the world of God. I’ll continue to lift you, your family and our church family up in prayer.
Your Sistah’ in Christ,
Toni
