The Numbers Are In . . .

October 31, 2011 2

Yesterday at Good Shepherd:

2300 people prepared & packed . . .

192,320 meals for Uganda while they also donated . . .

1800 non-perishable items for local hunger iniatives.

Our children’s ministry also made up 275 care bags for our upcoming Room In The Inn season of hospitality to people who are homeless.

I guess it is possible to do good on the Sabbath . . . and to make radical impact on our globe and in our community.

    Talbot,
This was truly an awesome day!!! Three hours worth of packing and Good Works from all the family at Good Sheppard UMC is going to feed 1,153,920 people that otherwise would otherwise be hungry. My little group was responsible for making up about 500 or so of those little packages in the hour that my wife and I joined in. Each of those packages indicated 6 servings per package. My little group made enough for 3000 servings of food. That really makes my 12 ounce steak and football sized potato seem a bit luxurious by comparison. My wife and I were truly humbled by those numbers. My daughter shared how good she felt to make a placemat for people that are hungry to share God’s love. If I didn’t alreays say it, yesterday was an awesome day!!! This is truly a community in which my family is proud to call home. Thank you Good Sheppard!
