From unChristian To Christian

July 3, 2009 3

Six weeks ago, I admitted in a post that I get more excited over some series than others, and that unChristian was one of those series.

Many of you now know why.

We spread the teaching around.

The music hit the mark.

Videos brought home the point.

And the people of Good Shepherd were ready to be challenged, to become uncomfortable, to hear the disconcerting news that many people reject Jesus because they feel rejected by us. Yeah, by us.

So this Sunday (July 5), we wrap it up. How?

From unChristian To Christian. To get ready, read John 8:2-11.

  • This has been a very eye opening series. Sometimes we need to fix what is on the inside before we can bring in those from the outside.

After reading the book “unChristian”, I became very concerned, “Is this me?” Today’s sermon was very compelling to me. I truly understood for the first time what it means to try and hurl stones yet be with sin. The tongue is a dangerous thing. Thank you for this series. God Bless!

Since you really liked this series, I highly recommend you check out nuChristian: Finding Faith in a New Generation by Russell Rathbun. It offers practical ideas for being transformed from unChristian to nuChristian. You can read more about it here: http://www.judsonpress.com/product.cfm?product_id=13514. And Russell will be doing a blog tour for the book starting on Monday, Oct. 12. Here’s a link to the list of participating blogs: http://www.judsonpress.com/blogtour.cfm.
